Drawing
The art of seeing
Much of my work over the years has been drawing. Even after a decade painting in oils, I find myself returning to direct and tactile experience of drawing. Some of my favourite pieces are done on location - either in nature, on city streets or in transit. The simplicity of working from the subject, to capture a moment in time leads to work that is refreshing. Studio drawings are in graphite, ink and charcoal. I enjoy the unique outcome of every drawing, each image a mark-making experience of its own.
