Sculpture Gallery
I'm drawn to a range of materials. I like the heavy feeling of concrete and its durability. I like that work can be for indoors or out and that the weathering of time becomes a part of a sculpture. Concrete is not very sculptural-friendly; much like working with cold mud yet once the material begins to set it's possible to shape pieces that can also be carved and chiselled. In contrast, I enjoy the soft and forgiving potential of plasticine. not necessarily intended to last over time, but a unique material that allows for quick and easy form-building opportunities and a great way to realize an idea. Included in this gallery of some wire forms that I've made over the years. Some pieces set in wood. The whimsical quality of wire sculpture is more like drawing in space.
